Rick Vyrostko, founder of PGCI, established Private Golf Connections Inc., out of his passion for the sport of golf, his desire to travel the world playing at the finest private courses and all the while enriching his personal and business contacts.
“I was always looking for ways to meet new people who loved playing golf as much as I did. Even though I’m a member of a fabulous private golf club, I also wanted the opportunity to play at some of the great private golf clubs seen on television and those admired by golf professionals worldwide. However, gaining access to other private golf clubs is a challenge” explains Vyrostko.
“I was driven to find a solution to this problem, a problem which I knew affected every other passionate golfer,” Vyrostko continues. “So, I leveraged all my experience with sales philosophies, customer relationship management approaches, starting up new companies, and my love of the computers and web technologies. I integrated all of these elements together with the power of the Internet to devise an exciting on-line membership program for private golf club members from around the world.” The result? PGCI was born. And Vyrostko’s dream finally became a reality.

Vyrostko was born in Welland, Ontario, Canada. He graduated with a bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. A busy entrepreneur with the opportunity to travel around the world for business and pleasure, Vyrostko brings his enthusiastic passion for life and applies it to his golf game.
Currently at a single digit handicap, Vyrostko has had the privilege of playing golf at numerous golf courses around North America and the Caribbean. He has been a member of the prestigious Blue Springs Golf Club in Southwestern Ontario for the past 8 years.

“Golf is not just a sport,” Vyrostko pronounces with feeling. “From its very beginnings, it is a sport that instills passion, an age-old tradition that extends into the heart of American, Canadian and European history. Once you step out onto the lush carpet of rolling fairways and experience the highs and lows of golf, surrounded by all of that natural beauty, you are hooked.
Dubbed “the last friendly game,” and unlike many other sports, golf maintains a high level of sportsmanship; one that emulates courteous, polite and respectful behavior in its players. This is true whether players are amateur or professional.
The game of golf requires time and patience – elements that help to make the sport so alluring, yet at the same time so difficult. And regardless of skill level, each round of golf provides the opportunity to hit the perfect shot, the one you know is flawless from the moment the ball leaves your club face and the one you’ll talk about over and over again.
